The Valley Forge Middle School PTO works with parents and the school to support our teachers and staff in being able to provide an excellent educational experience for our children.
Cultural Arts and Author Visits
The VFMS PTO funds 90% of the cultural arts expenses each year. We sponsor assemblies for each grade and author visits to benefit the entire school population.
During the 2022-23 school year, we funded interactive theater presentations on Ancient Egypt and the American Revolution, a Living Voices Holocaust presentation, a visit from author Nathan Hale, and a History of Pop presentation.
The VFMS PTO organizes the online directory each year. Each Sunday, the VFMS PTO sends out the Blast e-newsletter with information about what’s going on in the school and district community.
The PTO also posts information to our website and Facebook page to inform parents about things going on in the school.
The VFMS PTO gives monetary help to the school through Golden Apple Grants and a large end of year major gift. The Golden Apple Grants support teacher and student initiatives and enrich the educational experience at VFMS. In past years, we’ve funded an Indoor Smart Garden, a Positive Quote Wall and books for Reading Olympics, clubs and classrooms and a major technology upgrade of the Audion, which is a heavily used large group room.
The PTO also supports the school by organizing volunteers for Health Screenings, Chaperones for dances, helping with the Lost and Found and more. The PTO also organizes the New Parent Breakfast, 8th Grade Parent Coffee, Halloween Costume Contest and support for the 8th grade graduation.
The VFMS PTO works to support our teachers and staff and let them know that they are appreciated. The PTO organizes a winter luncheon and another before the end of school, as well as a week of Teacher Appreciation activities in the spring.
The VFMS PTO organizes socials for parents or families to get together, including evenings at local restaurants and a Union game.
Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Activities
The VFMS PTO supports the DEI efforts of the school and the district, as well as working to further the DEI conversation.
The VFMS PTO raises money to support our activities, including selling school spiritwear. Our biggest fundraiser is a simple ask for money from our generous parent community.
The VFMS PTO is a 501c3 organization making your contributions 100% tax deductible and eligible for most employer’s matching gifts programs.
