- Call to Order
The Meeting began at 12pm. In attendance were Juile Borrelli, Jennifer Newhall, Kathy Wynn, Frani Aufiero, Natalie Sudall, Sarah Culbert, Matt Gibson, Jerry Morgan.
- Update from Matt Gibson
The staff and students are preparing for the PSSA testing. The week of April 14th will be English and Language Arts and take place from 9:00-11:00 Monday through Friday. The following week will be Math testing 9:00-11:00 Monday through Friday and the week of April 27th will be Science testing for 8th graders only.
They are working on dates for the 5th and 6th grade Field day. They Sandy Hill and Williamsburg Field trips are coming up and the staff is working with the district offices to make sure that all of the mandatory clearances are taken care of in time for the trips. Anyone concerned about their clearances should contact the district office.
Matt confirmed that additional iPads from the PTO would be very helpful and that there may also be a need for stage and musical improvements.
During the summer the 700 wing will be getting new lockers, new bleachers will be installed in the large gym and the boys locker room will be redesigned to accommodate storage needs.

We are changing Spirit Wear providers. Hershey ticket sales have not been as strong as expected. Hillside sold tickets at a lower cost than VFMS price. Ticket sales will be extended for a couple of week in an effort increase sales. Upcoming events – Handels evening on April 29th and Barnes and Noble book sales the weekend of May 15th. The summer reading lists are needed to make the Barnes and Noble event successful.
- Update from VP Social –
The Spring Dance, for 7th and 8th graders will be April 17th, parent chaperones are needed.
8th grade graduation committee has met to discuss needs and preparation for the graduation.
Fall Parent Social is seeking more committee members. They would like to meet in the spring to finalize location for event.
The PTO will put together a quick Teacher Appreciation Breakfast to show our appreciation.

- Update from Cultural Arts –
Audio Body performed at TE Middle to a very large crowd. They were not able to perform at VFM due to the school play.
- AOB
Jerry Morgan presented from the Beautification committee. The committee is looking for $2,000 to redesign the front entry landscaping to the school. The goal of the redesign is to create stewardship of the environment with the children and a harmonious entry to the school. They have been working with Randy Grainger a teacher from Penn Charter. VFMS students and the art teachers will participate in the design. The design of the project will take place in the fall of 2015 and the implementation of the project in Spring of 2016
- Update from President –
Sarah suggested the final PTO meeting be held offsite, at a restaurant. PTO members would be encouraged to bring a friend who might be interested in participating in the PTO next year. The final location will be confirmed later.
