April 24, 2017

Call to Order

• The meeting began at 12pm. In attendance were Ankur Kashyap, Jennifer Newhall, Jamie Lynch, Stacey Pellegrini, Natalie Sudall, Emily Brunner, Tereza Keohane, Dalhia Osman, Sarah Culbert, Cel Nassif
• The minutes from the March PTO meeting were reviewed an approved
• The next PTO meeting will be held on May 23, at 12:00 pm in the conference room adjacent to the library

Update from Treasurer – Please see attached documents.

Update on Online Directory Progress:

• The board voted to purchase the online directory, MySchoolAnywhere, once the school district has approved the contract

Update for Matt Gibson given by:

• The Spring Dance hosted by the Student Council will be held outside for the first time
• 4^th graders will be visiting in the school in May – “Transition Afternoon”
• May 23^rd is the “Transition Night” for parents of rising 5^th graders
• Valley Forge Relays will be held May 19^th
• 5^th and 6^th Field Days will be May 30^th
• The Advisory Initiative is being redesigned for 7^th and 8^th grade to include technology, creativity and global citizenship
• 2 staff members are retiring from the staff at the end of the school year
• 145 students opted out of the PSSA from VFMS

Update from VP Fundraising:

• No Update

Update on Volunteers and Communications:

• No update – Marine Havel has resigned from the VP Communication position due to a new job
• The board discussed options for organizing volunteer sign-ups

Update from VP Social:   

• We are still looking for volunteers for 8^th grade graduation and Teacher luncheon

Update from Cultural Arts:

• No update

Misc.:

• The board approved the purchased of new library furniture for approximately $1,100.00, to be paid from the funds raised in the 2017-2018 school year
• The next meeting will be May 23, 2017
• The meeting was adjourned at 1:00 pm
