Ceramic Mural Creation and Installation at VFMS 2014
Rhoda Kahler (www.rhodakahler.com) was our artist-in-residence during February and March. Rhoda is a graduate of West Chester University where she still resides. She specializes in handmade tiles and sculpture and is currently creating centennial tiles in her Alphabet City motif for the Delaware Museum of Art. She has also recently been invited by the Philadelphia Museum of Art to be a Guest Artist Instructor for their Form and Art program.
Rhoda and VFMS students created a ceramic mural depicting the five elements: earth, fire, water, air and ether.
The installation is in the VFMS main lobby on the long brick wall across from the central entrance to the auditorium.
