Laine Rothe is a Learning Support Teacher for the fifth grade. Mrs. Rothe earned both her Master of Education in Curriculum and Instruction and her Bachelor of Science in Special Education Degrees from Penn State.
She received her Reading Specialist Certification from Cabrini College. Before coming to VFMS, Mrs. Rothe taught at elementary schools in the Christina School District and the Oxford Area School District, as well as T/E’s New Eagle. She has been at VFMS for seven and a half years. Mrs. Rothe has been married for seventeen years and has two children, daughter Emily, who is ten years old, and son Justin, who is seven.
In an interview with the PTO, Mrs. Rothe shared the following information:
Pets – None right now.
Hobbies now – Reading, skiing and baking, especially around the holidays.
Hobbies, sports and interests when you were in middle school – Enjoyed Girl Scouts, skiing with her family, canoeing and kayaking and summer swim team. Played a role in the 8th grade production of Romeo and Juliet.
Interesting/little known facts or talents – While in high school and college, Mrs. Rothe enjoyed whitewater kayaking with her family. In addition, her younger sisters are identical triplets (which only occurs in 1 out of every 500,000 births) and her husband is an identical twin.
Advice for parents of middle school children – Keep open communication about friends, classwork, and other things that are important to your child.
