Jeanne Kahn is a 5th grade Gold Team Science teacher. Dr. Kahn received both her bachelor’s and master’s degrees from West Chester University and in addition, earned her doctorate from Immaculata University. She has been at VFMS for 14 years. Before teaching middle school, Dr. Kahn taught elementary school at Beaumont in the T/E School District and Schuykill Elementary in the Phoenixville School District. She is married to her husband, Eli and has one daughter, Natalie, who is 13.
In an interview with the PTO, Dr. Kahn shared the following information:
Pets – A pug named Buddy.
Hobbies now – Golfing, beading, jewelry making and shopping.
Hobbies, sports and interests when you were in middle school – Played field hockey and lacrosse and was a cheerleader. Participated in Student Council.
Interesting/little known facts or talents – Her parents made her and her siblings take Polka Dancing Lessons when they were kids. She was her high school’s Drum Major her senior year and in her twenties, she took motorcycle lessons.
Advice for parents of middle school children – Never stop giving your children help with their work! They will always need your guidance even if they resist! It shows them you care and makes them successful in the years to come.
