During sixth and eighth grades, our kids have the wonderful experience of learning Art from this week’s Teacher of the Week, Mrs. Zan Lombardo. She earned her Master of Fine Arts degree from Southern Illinois University and her Bachelor of Science degree in Education from Northern Illinois University. For twenty-five years, she has taught here at VFMS. In addition, she has taught at TEMS, Hillside and Conestoga. She has been married for thirty years and has one daughter.
In an interview with the PTO, Mrs. Lombardo shared the following information:
Pets – An English Pointer named Sweetie and a tabby kitten named Tiger Lily.
Hobbies now – She has an art studio at home where she is at work on her second, thirty-foot watercolor.
Hobbies, sports and interests when you were in middle school – Student Council, theater and Art Club.
Interesting/little known facts or talents – Mrs. Lombardo now travels between VFMS and TEMS every day.
Advice for parents of middle school children – Encourage your children to be creative, get messy and spend time playing in nature.
