We need you – YES, YOU – to make the 2022-2023 school year the BEST year ever for our kids! There’s something for everyone to do at the PTO, you just need to take the first step and let us know you’re willing to help!
Dr. Melba Beals is walking history. The students and I were mesmerized – we could have listened to her speak about her life all day. That afternoon spent with her was truly special. The book paired with a visit from her made the written pages come to life.

Dr. Beale’s talk impacted my thinking of discrimination because we actually got to see someone who faced it in a bigger way. We got to hear her perspective of how things were instead of just reading about it. We truly got to see how hard it was for her and here her express the way she felt.

The book Wonder has been used by countless teachers to promote kindness and reading. Having the chance to listen to R.J. Palacio converse with her life-long friend Meg Medina allowed our 6th graders to see a famous author as a person. She was no longer R.J. Palacio but Raquel.
